AN American diner serving food flown direct from Detroit could soon be open for business in Bury.
The council has received a planning application to site a 1950s style diner on Silver Street on the site of a former clothes shop.
A group of businessmen, both local and international, have £250,000 to spend on the idea.
Investor Mr Tony Bolger said: "The restaurant will be a one-off but based on a successful chain of restaurants and bars in Detroit.
"We will make it as authentic as possible and use genuine American food which will be flown in to Manchester Airport every couple of days.
"The emphasis will be on people of all ages having fun and enjoying themselves.
"We want to involve as many local people as we can and would probably want a local rock'n'roll band for the opening night."
