A BURY window frame company, whose production has rocketed by 400 per cent, is helping postpone obituary notices for the town's manufacturing base.

And Fenster Trade Frames, based in the town's Harvey Street, has achieved the remarkable growth without being forced to actively advertise.

To help cope with an unprecedented demand for its window frames, doors and conservatories, the company has invested heavily in both new machinery and manpower.

In addition, a currently unused 5,000 sq ft unit at the rear of Fenster's headquarters will be transformed and pressed into service as a new production area.

The company's growth and enviable business performance coincides with the appointment of Mr Jason Hollinge as new production manager, working alongside Mr Roy Brown. Other key personnel with the company are Mr Mark Rowland, technical manager, and Mr Kevin Prendergast, company sales manager.

Fenster managing director, Mr Mando Miniero said: "We have been operating for around five years and sell to the trade, as well as to members of the public.

"About 97 per cent of our production is for trade and the remainder for the public. Our products have been bought by companies as far as Scotland in the north and Devon in the south."

During the last 18 months, Fenster has achieved a significant upsurge in orders which has, in turn, seen its production increase dramatically.

"Last January we were turning out around 140 frames a week. Now, we're manufacturing 1,075 which is the equivalent of a 400 per cent increase," disclosed Mr Miniero.

He also paid tribute to the contribution and important input of new production manager, Mr Hollinge.
