YEAR 10 students from Hodgson High School, Poulton, got an insight into the world of work in the leisure industry by taking part in Whitbread's Education Challenge project.

A team of 15 pupils spent an evening working in the Millers Arms, in Singleton, alongside the restaurant's chef and other house staff, designing and serving their own dishes.

And according to the manager, Paul Moynihan, the diners were delighted with the results.

Head of the Year 10, Mr Anthony Lord, said that this education project has proved to be of enormous interest and benefit to the pupils.
