ARMY cadets from Arnold School, Blackpool, stood to attention during a recent visit from Lieutenant Colonel David James.
The Queen's Lancashire Regiment's commanding officer, based in Northern Ireland, spent the morning inspecting training facilities and equipment, which included the school's new climbing wall.
Lt. Col. James also gave the cadets a talk about his involvement in helping troops and residents in Omagh after the bombing last year.
Headmaster, Bill Gillen, said: "The day went superbly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
"The pupils were expecting a visit from such a commanding officer to be quite daunting, but he wasn't at all and was on their wavelength straight away."
