EID-ul-hazah celebrations passed off peacefully in East Lancashire as thousands of Muslims attended prayers.
Police said Blackburn, Darwen and Accrington town centres were quiet during the weekend and there were no problems. In past years, there have been disturbances caused by some young people hooting car horns.
Insp Richard Bayly said: "It's been a most enjoyable occasion for all concerned. It's all gone very well and I think everyone's had a great time."
At Randal Street mosque in Blackburn, Coun Akhtar Hussain said more than 1,500 people went to Sunday morning services.
He added: "There were problems a couple of years ago, but the police have been working very hard and this year everything was fine. I would like to thank Blackburn police for their help."
