LOCAL friers, Les and Val Scott and Simon Stuart, could not have done 'batter' with their quality of food and service and have received a top award to prove it.
The pair, who run the Cemetery Chippy, in Keighley Road, Colne, were rewarded for everything from their tasty fish and chips to their friendly staff with the Seafish Friers Quality Award.
Mike Platt, a quality assurance officer for Seafish, said: "The inspection is very thorough, covering all aspects of the business.
"Over 193 points are inspected including approximately 40 temperature checks.
"The Cemetery Chippy certainly demonstrated very high standards and, of course, great fish and chips."
Pendle Borough Council Environmental Health Officer, Bryden Simpson, said: "They have set a good standard in complying with the latest food hygiene Codes of Practice and deserve the Industry award."
