BOLTON and Bury Chamber's deputy chief executive, Mr Mark Lloyd, will become the country's youngest training and enterprise council (TEC) chief.

The 31-year-old is taking up his new position in County Durham in May.

Speaking of his new challenge at County Durham TEC and Business Link, he said: "I will be applying many of the valuable lessons learnt here at Bolton and Bury Chamber to my new role.

"I've seen the value of building effective partnerships at all levels within the community and hope to do the same in the north east."

He added: "I will certainly be trying to emulate the chamber's robust business support model - to support community success through successful enterprises."

Mark began his fast-track career with the Department of Employment - treading the corridors of Whitehall - before joining the TEC movement in 1990.

He says he will be sad to leave the chamber at an exciting time, but hopes to retain his links with the two boroughs.
