HUNDREDS of satellite viewers are breaking the law by using pirate viewing cards which have flooded into the country in the last few weeks.

American-based counterfeit gangs using high-technology copying equipment have targeted Lancashire with the cut-price scam, which enable viewers to watch Sky TV's premier channels for as little as £49.

But the satellite company's bosses and Lancashire's chief Trading Standards officer Jim Potts warned that people who sell or use the cards are breaking the law and are risking prosecution.
