MORE and more schools are signing up for our NIE Sport Extra project designed to boost skills in literacy and numeracy through our sports linked material.
Bowland High School, Grindleton, joined the scheme last week and teachers are already finding it a good way to interest pupils in newspapers and the media.
Students in year 9 are tackling assignments in the Sport Extra mini-workbook and other pupils have access to copies of our newspaper and sports supplement in the school library.
At only £10 for a set of 25 copies of the mini-workbook and delivery of 25 copies of our newspaper, including the Sport Extra supplement, on any Wednesday of the summer term, this is a bargain not to be missed. For details contact NIE Co-ordinator Rita Shaw on 01254 678678 Ext 255.
