HINDSFORD JUNIORS U12s have been hitting the high spots. But their latest run began with a defeat, when they lost 2-1 to Cadishead in the Manchester County Cup Final (Grant Willett; MoM Matthew Houlihan).

They quickly recovered to win their third trophy of the season by taking the Wigan & District League crown when they beat 1998 champs Hawkley 3-1 (Houlihan, MoM Willett, Andrew Golpys) and went on to score a 17-1 romp against Aspull (Willett 4, Sam Hurst 4, Mark Chilton 3, Golpys 2, Robert Swanton, Daniel Finch, Houlihan, Dean Edwards; MoM Jonathan Hewitt).

Juniors then reached the Wigan & District Cup Final, beating Douglas Valley 3-0 with goals from Luke Joyce 2 and Golpys (MoM Swanton) and they closed out an exciting week with a 2-1 win at Atherton Colls, the goals from MoM Hurst and Edwards.

U18s drew 1-1 at Deans (Rob Lomax; MoM Ryan Willett); Villa U15s lost 1-0 to Farnworth Villa; Rangers U13s beat Bolton County 2-0 to secure runners-up spot in the Bolton Boys Federation; Albion U11s drew 4-4 with Barr Hill (Ged Williams 2, MoM Scott Pendlebury, Jack Fahy), lost 3-1 to Parkwydden (Pendlebury; MoM Fahy) and then beat Barr Hill 6-2 (Pendlebury, Williams, Scott McDowall, James Fox, Michael Cheetham, Daniel Rogers); Cougars U9s beat Patricroft 5-0 (Lee Hodgkinson 2, Joe Unsworth, Simon Warburton, Michael Phoenix; MoM Josh Newall); U8s A beat Brandleshome 7-2 (MoM Jack Valentine 4, Daniel Bablinski, Lewis Clarke, Liam Devlin); U8s B beat Ladybridge 3-2 (Scott Edgington 2, Shane Heaton; MoM Tony Lancashire); U7s beat Eastleigh 7-0 (MoM Ryan Guest 3, Joshua Brian 3, Michael Rigby).

PENNINGTON RAIDERS have scored a dramatic cup 'n league double. They secured the Warrington Solvay U11s League title with a 4-1 win at Penketh United. And they quickly followed up by taking the Solvay Interox League Cup, 1-1 at full-time and after extra-time, 6-5 in a sudden death penalty shoot-out.
