THE Citizen's astrologer foretold the fairytale fortune of a sensational football result on Saturday.

Mark Anderton-Wilson told a Carlisle United fan last Wednesday not only that his team would win its crucial match against Plymouth to stay in the Football League, but that the winning goal would be scored in the dying minutes due to the goalkeeper.

It all came to pass: Carlisle won 2-1 when on-loan goalkeeper Jimmy Glass ran out of his position to score from four yards out in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Mark, 44, who lives in Blackpool, said: "This client came to visit me on Wednesday. I didn't know he was from Carlisle, but as he was on his way out he asked if I thought the team would win on Saturday.

"I thought about it for a second and then said they would win, I said I didn't know the score but the winning goal would come in injury time due to the goalie.

"Radio Cumbria was interviewing fans before the match.

"This man told them what I'd said and they were waiting for him at the end of the match to find out my number so they could ring and confirm that I did say it.

"They then interviewed me on the radio.

"I was surprised at the outcome myself - wouldn't anyone be?"

Mark, a professional astrologer for 25 years, compiles the Preston and Leyland Citizen's Your Stars column.

"I don't make a habit of forecasting football results," he said. "But I'm a medium as well - when he asked, it just came to me."
