YOUNG left-arm spinner Lorin Smith came to the rescue of King Edward School in Lytham by securing victory for his team in their first local derby of the season.

King Edward had crashed to just 10 runs for five wickets against Rossall School, but recovered to 124 all out thanks to Richard Cragg (3l runs), Andrew Blake (30) and skipper Matthew Wilkinson (32).

Then l4-year-old Lorin - playing in only his second senior match - took seven wickets for 4l runs in a l7-over spell.

Matthew Wilkinson and Andrew Blake claimed the other wickets as Rossall were bowled out for 93 to give King Edward victory by 31 runs.
