THE DEMOLITION of the pedestrian link between Burnley market and the old multi-storey car stack in Curzon Street from Monday will not affect daytime access, council chiefs have confirmed.

They have apologised for issuing a notice which said the area would be closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic from Monday for a week.

The closure will apply only from 7pm until before 7am during that period.

The link removal is part of demolition ready for the £12.5 million Curzon Street shops and new parking development.
