NEWCOMERS Flux hope to wipe out memories of their shambolic debut when they support Nilstar in Accrington tonight.

The band, whose members come from Rishton, Oswaldtwistle and Preston, have ditched a lot of their old songs and will showcase new material when they play The Queens in Eastgate. This will be the first gig for Flux with new drummer Dan.

Guitarist and former Pulse contributor Martin Crabtree said they planed to forget their troubled first show when they supported Pendle band Element in Burnley last Hallowe'en.

Nilstar have recording three tracks for what they hope will be their next single. Their new tracks have been played on student radio and they have also recorded session tracks for Radio Lancashire.

Flux, whose influences include The Fall, Pavement and Mercury Rev, are set to record a demo with friends Jay Stansfield and Karl Eden from local band Element.
