IN reply to the reader who wrote (Letters, June 9) regarding the reporting of an unlicensed vehicle to the police and no action being taken, I can beat that. I reported a driver for having no road tax since November last year, and he is still driving around in the same car without a road fund licence.

I have reported this a total of six times and still nothing has been done.

When I recently reported it again, I was told by the woman constable on duty that it was not a police matter and they could do nothing. It was up to the DVLA in Swansea to take action she said.

I reported this to the DVLA and they have not taken any sort of action either.

So I say to the local tax dodgers, carry on driving and don't worry as the police cannot take action against you.

I find this unbelievable. Are the police not interested or are they not interested in the public's support or help? They are always saying we need the help of the public to report law breakers and when you do, they sit back and do nothing.

I doubt if this driver has any insurance or MoT as the vehicle in question is around 15 years old.

God forbid that this car injures or kills anyone in an accident because it certainly does not even look roadworthy.
