GARDENING and tree planting schemes along with play areas for children were the ideas put forward by residents who want to improve their neighbourhoods in Hyndburn.
The Community Action Partnership, a group set up to help regenerate Barnfield, Spring Hill, Central wards in Accrington plus the Church ward, were joined by green group Groundwork East Lancashire at a recent meeting.
Residents hope that organisations like Groundwork and Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Council For Voluntary Service will be able to help play a part in rejuvenating their areas.
The CAP group agreed to look into registering as a charity, and has planned a series of meetings to carry their improvement projects into the next millennium.
The group's next meeting is at Accrington Town Hall on Thursday, July 8 at 1.30pm.
