RESIDENTS opposed to a new housing estate in Hindley Green will hold a protest meeting next Wednesday (July 14).
Former 'Blue Route' campaigner John Vickers will chair the meeting in the Spinners Arms, Atherton Road, starting 7.30pm.
Already 200 people have objected to the housing scheme and they were handed over to the Planning Department on Tuesday.
One of the speakers on Wednesday will be Chris Maile from the Green Party. He will be giving advice on how to oppose the plans after his involvement in fighting the Manchester Airport runway extension and Xanadu snowdome.
Wigan planners and local councillors have been invited.
