LANCASTER confirmed their trophy winning streak with a relatively comfortable win in the recent Northern League Trophy tournament held at Salt Ayre recently.

Following an early scare against Stretford which eventually saw the home side run out winners by 7-6, Lancaster went from strength to strength with Colin Burgess once again proving troublesome to the opposition. Easy wins against Newcastle by eight goals to one and against Chester 6-1 left captain Chris Hartley with the task of collecting the trophy.

In a Northern League fixture the day before Lancaster ran out easy winners by 17-6 against Birkenhead. The opposition lacked any strength iN depth to cope with the threat from Lancaster's trio of Burgess, Bowers and Hartley who from the start ensured Lancaster controlled the game.

New captain of the England team Neil Bowers accepts his Lancaster water polo team's latest trophy from president of the club Geoff Shingler.
