A FORMER miner who rose to become chairman of thriving local company Majestic Windows has died age 65.
Haresfinch-born Mr Gordon Lloyd, of Lawns Avenue, Orrell, died in Wigan Hospice on Saturday after being ill with cancer for several months.
He leaves his widow Helen, daughter Helen, sons David and Barry, and six grandchildren.
Mr Lloyd established the Lea Green-based firm with his father Harry several years ago. It employs more than 150 and has showrooms in Duke Street, St Helens.
A funeral service will be held at St Luke's Church, Orrell, on Monday, July 12, at 11am, followed by cremation.
