IT WOULD appear that we have a band of vigilantes living in the Slyne Road area of Skerton who have nothing better to do that watch dog walkers and monitor their every step. I refer in particular to the two vehicles driving along Slyne Road at approximately 2 o'clock on Saturday August 14 and other individuals who live in the area who had the audacity to blow their horns to inform me that my dog was in the process of relieving himself. As a mature, responsible adult I am well aware of the bodily functions of my dog and carry the appropriate equipment with which to clean up. However, I find it exceedingly difficult to perform this task until the offensive material has physically departed from said animal! In addition to this, on the odd occasion when the offensive material has not been removed immediately, I am appalled by the disgusting abuse that comes out of the mouths of these people. May I suggest that in future, these people clean up their manner in the same way I clean up after my dog. If these vigilantes genuinely felt so strongly about this matter, then instead of wasting their time harassing innocent individuals, they would do better constructively petitioning Lancaster City Council into providing the appropriate dog litter bins etc. Also, I wonder, are these individuals the same parents of the youngsters who frequently deposit litter, spit and swear in my area? I know which I prefer!
