PRESTON pool champ Stephen Forshaw won through to the last 16 of the Hamlet American Pool Championship - despite taking up the sport only three months ago.
Stephen, pictured, took up the American version of the game after playing English pool for several years.
He won through to the finals after storming to victory in the preliminary regional competition at Rileys in Preston.
He said: "I don't feel that I played my best in the final at Sheffield and think that on another day, I could have won it.
"I am thinking of turning pro and am looking at getting sponsors."
