THE city council has deferred a decision on which company is given the go-ahead for the multi-million pound redevelopment of Kingsway in Lancaster, writes Paul Wilkinson.
The largely derelict site, which includes the old bus station, Kingsway Baths and the derelict Bridge End House, is a key location at the northern entrance of the city.
Three large property companies have expressed an interest in the site which is expected to be used for a mixture of retail, leisure and housing.
Councillors listened to prospective development plans on Wednesday but were unable to decide on which was the best for the city.
The have deferred the decision for two weeks while the prospective developers are asked further questions.
