DESPERATE Muslim women in East Lancashire were fleeing to secret "safe" houses to escape domestic violence. Many of the terrified girls spoke out against lives locked in domestic despair in a bid to escape the miseries of family tradition. Hostels for Asian women in Lancashire, West Yorkshire, and London were sheltering clients whose lives had been literally shattered by family life.
