WITH reference to Citizen Smith's thoughts in the Citizen (Sept 2). I propose that he "merges" with the rest of the area's football fans here on planet earth to realise what a ridiculous suggestion he came up with (not heard it suggested in your column for what must be four years now - "time to give it an airing, as there's nothing else to write about").
I'm sure the fans of Preston and Blackpool, Blackburn and Burnley, Man City and Man United would have the same reaction if they were suggested to join forces. Ridiculous isn't it? If you know nothing about football, don't write about it.
