THE Government is allowing the French to impose five conditions on the import of our beef.

If the government wishes to retain any credibility with the British electorate, it would immediately apply these five conditions upon the import of foreign pork into the UK:

1. Traceability, 2. testing, 3. derived products, 4. controls, 5. labelling.

If our animal welfare groups care about the disregard this government has for the wellbeing of foreign pigs, whose meat is sold here, they could shame the Government into banning imports not meeting these five criteria. They are not produced under acceptable conditions.
