HOMELESS workers in Lancaster were celebrating yesterday (Wednesday) when news came that someone had donated a truck for their Christmas Shelter.

That means the shelter at Our Lady's school is certain to go ahead. Last month it seemed likely that Our Lady's would not be ready for the shelter this year. But thankfully that too was later sorted out.

The truck was donated by Bayview Cars. Martin Davies made the offer for the second year running. The team at the Homeless Action Centre on Edward Street are still desperately short of volunteers for the shelter and for the day-to-day running of the place.
