A SHOOTING and fishing shop in Rainford was the target for vandals who hurled a firework into a storage garage, destroying stock.
The incident happened at about 5pm on Saturday at the back of Rainford Field Sports Shop in Church Road which sell sports equipment for shooting and fishing enthusiasts. Owner Steve Farrar told the Star: "It could have been a lot worse. Fortunately, the fire didn't spread to the shop and most of the stock in the garage was second hand and there was no shooting or ammunition equipment in there. I can assure our customers that we are still open for business and the shop is perfectly safe.
