BURY has slipped down the league of Britain's most profitable towns and cities.
Its position has been placed in the Experian annual survey of the profit and loss of more than 280 places across the country.
Experian, the global information services company, based in surveys on 235,000 companies.
Top of the league was Worthing which increased its average profit margin of companies from 20.90 per cent in 1998 to 24.71 per cent in 1999.
Bury emerged in 108th place in the league with an average profit margin figure of 5.66 per cent.
But the town has slipped from its place at number 80, which it occupied last year.
