Glen Little stretched Nelson's lead early in the second half when he blasted a left foot shot past goalkeeper Dave Fish and into the far corner of the net for goal number two.
Woodley were reduced to ten men when Paul Buckley was sent off for his second yellow card after 87 minutes and as Nelson pressed home their advantage Jonathan Irvine saw his last minute shot come back off the crossbar.
