AN EAST Lancashire MP will quiz Government ministers about their plans to help arthritis sufferers.

Lindsay Hoyle, MP for Chorley, has backed the Arthritis Care Campaign to raise awareness of arthritis, Britain's largest cause of disability.

He said: "More than 13,000 people suffer from the disability in Chorley alone, with almost 2,000 being under the age of 45.

"It can severely incapacitate people and the issue is not only one of health but involves access to buildings, buses, trains and our town centres."

Mr Hoyle has tabled questions to the Secretary of State for Health, the Minister for Transport and the Secretary of State for Education on arthritis issues.
