DURING the 20th Century, members of the human race have slaughtered each other on an unprecedented scale. So what can be done to make the 21st Century less violent?
For a start, in this nuclear age, nations can no longer conduct their foreign and defence policies as if they were still living in the days of bows and arrows, cavalry charges and sailing ships firing cannon balls.
They must co-operate far more. Also, there must be no place for mediocre political leaders who will use a war to boost their own egos, or for so-called religious leaders who will talk of a 'holy war,' when it offers nothing but blood, sweat, toil and tears.
The old ways of doing things will no longer do. Therefore, in the global economy in which we now live, the children of the 21st Century must be taught they are no longer citizens of one country, but of one world.
