COLNE Parish Church was lit by candlelight as more than 200 adults and children enjoyed its annual Christingle service.

The service was led by the Vicar of Colne, the Reverend Peter Mott who was helped by young members of the church.

The Brownies made 100 Christingles, oranges with candles in them to remind people that Jesus is the light of the world, and they were handed to children as they came into the church.

Junior performed a Nativity play and members of the Pathfinder group, for ten to 14 year olds, read stories of how youngsters had been helped by the Children's Society. A collection was taken for the charity.
