SUPERMARKET staff checked out their bosses' new haircuts - and had their best laugh of the year!

Senior managers Richard Surr and John Muncaster agreed to have their heads shaved as part of a number of fund-raising events staged by Tesco, at Hill Street, Blackburn, in aid of the Children's Promise Millennium appeal.

The pair raised £500 donated by staff and customers.

Already this week staff at the store have held a bad shirt day, a 'dye your hair' day and a dressing down day in aid of the appeal.

The Children's Promise appeal is being staged in aid of seven major charities working with children.
