MAY I thank the many who sent letters and cards of appreciation over the festive season.
This makes the work of a councillor worthwhile. I do realise at times we do not always say and do the correct things but I believe that the good of the community is at the heart of the matter. When people telephone or write or speak to us with a worry or a problem we do try to be helpful but, as I myself often say in a jovial way "I am not Mrs Wonderful," but I will do my best. As I said earlier the good intentions are there but unfortunately the resources aren't. This makes things a bit difficult on occasion but not insurmountable. I think that the public at large is aware when we attempt to get jobs done successfully and quickly. Prior to Christmas during the heavy rain several complaints were presented to me such as flooded drains etc and I pay tribute to the highways department for the quick response for this work and other problems they dealt with. A happy new year and thanks for your continued support.
