A ROARING success - a cliche perhaps but surely a fitting description of New Year's Eve events in Holcombe, Ramsbottom.
The Millennium bonfire inspired literally thousands to attend a really wonderful and magical evening. The torchlight procession wending its way up to Peel Tower from Holcombe Church was something very special.
This event really was an example of a community in action, organising together. Lots of people made a contribution, including the spiritual and the practical, with Holcombe Church playing a pivotal note and the council's own new Area Committee giving its support.
Thanks especially go to Luise and John for making the event happen. Happy New Year!
