NORTH END: Ex-Burnley defender Gary Parkinson could get a squad place when Preston North End take on Plymouth in tomorrow's FA Cup fourth round clash at Home Park.

Parkinson had missed over a year with knee ligament damage, but is expected to return to the bench after completing 90 minutes of reserve action earlier in the week.

On-loan David Beresford will know later today whether he is eligible to play - North End are awaiting permission from Huddersfield Town.

Meanwhile Lee Cartwright remains on the Deepdale casualty list, where he is joined this week by striker Steve Basham. The former Southampton hitman suffered another recurrence of his ankle problem this week and is due to see a specialist to assess the problem.

North End have two Cup matches in three days - on Monday night they face an Auto Windscreens Shield clash with in-form Third Division outfit Hartlepool.

Squad: Moilanen, Alexander, Edwards, Jackson, Murdock, Appleton Rankine, Gregan, Eyres, Macken, Nogan, Lucas, Kidd, Gunnlaugsson, Ludden, Beresford, Darby, Parkinson.
