AN Austin Powers lookalike has been visiting Bury schools to spread the word about "groovy" career choices for young people.

Actor Chris Batten toured 35 schools in Bury and Bolton to point the way forward for school leavers.

In the maverick performance, Austin battled with arch enemy Dr Evil to stop him spreading confusion about career options.

The show featured other popular characters and was packed with dance and music - inspired by contemporary artistes such as S Club 7, Shenia Twain, Madonna and Ricky Martin.

Theatre company Cragrats was commissioned by Bolton and Bury Chamber to bring to life the exciting options for earning while learning via nationally respected programmes such as Modern Apprenticeships and National Traineeships.

Among local schools visited were Radcliffe High School, Coney Green High School and Elms Bank High School in Whitefield.
