COUNCIL house tenants could be at risk from faulty gas appliances if they do not let inspectors into their homes for annual checks, the borough council has warned.
Health and safety laws mean the council must service gas appliances every year, but inspectors have been unable to get into every home.
Hyndburn Council is reminding tenants it has the right to force entry into homes if it cannot gain access after repeated visits.
A council spokesman said: "This isn't a case of inspectors barging unannounced into people's homes, it is simply about ensuring that tenants are safe."
