THE head boy of an East Lancashire secondary school has been offered one of just eight places on a Cambridge University course.
Simon Cronshaw, 17, from Knuzden, is hoping to take the place at Emmanuel College to study history in September.
A pupil at St Wilfrid's CE High School, Blackburn, he is currently studying history, English literature, maths and business studies at A-level and working hard to ensure his results enable him to take the place.
Headteacher Linda Robinson, said: "We are all delighted at Simon's well deserved success.
"He is proving to be an outstanding head boy, able to balance his many responsibilities with an intense academic timetable in an amazingly cheerful, good-humoured manner."
