FASCINATING events in Hyndburn's past form part of the latest edition of the Hyndburn Residents' Guide.
The special millennium publication contains a history of the borough including the formation in 1878 of Accrington Stanley Football Club, 10 years before the formation of the Football League.
The annual guide contains information on council services and includes details of more than 250 local clubs and societies - ranging from youth groups to bellringers.
There are also details of council premises for hire, pest control and drain clearance services, cemeteries and crematorium services, refuse collection and leisure facilities.
The free guide, which is available from all council offices, also contains a full diary of civic events for the coming year.
