SOCCER fan Michael Galeski was devastated when the sportswear he got from his hero Ryan Giggs ended up shredded after a bike accident.

But the Manchester United star's sponsors Reebok have brought a smile back to his face by giving him a new tracksuit and tee-shirt.

Michael, 13, of Pendle Road, Great Harwood, was riding along the old railway track near Read last August when he plunged 14 feet and badly injured himself.

He had to be airlifted to Burnley General Hospital, and medical staff had to cut off his clothing - a tracksuit and other sportswear he had won in a competition.

His mother Caley, 36, said: "All he was bothered about at the time of the accident was that was that they had cut his clothes off.

"He had won the prize in a competition and spent a day with Ryan Giggs. They got on really well and talked about football all afternoon."

Michael's solicitor Joanne Kearsley, of Farleys, contacted Reebok, who donated the new clothes. "It was a total surprise for him when he received the clothes." his mum said.

Michael, a pupil at Norden High School, Rishton, is a member of Burnley's school of excellence.

His mum said: "Michael didn't know whether he would play again. He has still not played for Burnley since the accident and he sometimes feels down, so it was really nice for him to get this present."

She has also been in touch with Giggs' manager and is trying to set up another meeting for Michael.
