PATIENT care watchdogs will be on duty at Burnley General Hospital's accident and emergency unit on Monday to get a snapshot of activity at the casualty unit.
The three-strong team from Burnley Community Health Council will be taking part in National Casualty, a nationwide survey of hospital accident units.
It will be the third annual survey and the results will be published almost immediately.
Watchdogs will monitor activity, waiting times, use of beds and pressure on services.
