TWO pupils who got the broadcasting bug after taking part in their school's radio day last year have been invited to see an episode of Blue Peter being recorded.

Claire Plane and Andrew Stubbs, both 16, will spend the day with presenter Katy Hill as she works on BBC television's long-running children's show.

When Ivy Bank High School, Burnley, presented its own radio broadcast with a special licence in November, pupil presenters interviewed Katy over the telephone.

Afterwards she said she would try to arrange a visit for them to the BBC studios in Shepherd's Bush, London.

Ivy Bank development officer Michael Watson, who will accompany the pupils, said: " She kept her word and we are delighted.

"Claire and Andrew were enthusiastic members of our broadcasting team."

Claire said: "We are really looking forward to meeting Katy in person."

Andrew said: "It is a great opportunity to see what goes into making such a popular show."
