REGARDING your Insight article 'Gum? Are we stuck with it?' (LET, February 16), one could clean chewing gum off the old pavements, but not this modern asphalt. It's a disgrace. So is spitting. There used to be signs saying 'Do not spit,' 'No Litter' and 'No dog dirt.' Why not some about discarded gum?
