A NIGHT of acoustic Blues at a town centre hotel rounded off four days of fun for Burnley fans.
The 12th Burnley National Blues Festival closed yesterday with the main stage moving from the Mechanics to the Old Sparrow Hawk Hotel, in Church Street.
British blues marvel Eddie Martin, who simultaneously plays guitar, harmonica and drums, was the final act on the scaled-down Monday of the festival.
This year's highlights included sassy blues diva Angela Brown, who made a festival comeback on Saturday before top act The Blues Band let the good times roll.
The frenetic rock'n'roll of Friday night headliners The Paladins was energetic enough to melt blues' fans hearts.
Sunday night headliners the Mighty Sam McClain Band, an eight-piece whose Louisiana-born leader is a double Grammy nominee, were supported by dreadlocked Detroit guitarist Marcus Malone. Former Big Town Playboys frontman Mike Sanchez completed the night's line-up.
The fringe events helped spread the musical energy round town, where queueing crowds were wowed by stilt-walkers and fire-breathers.
