SCORES of people travelled to Clitheroe Auction Mart to watch the Big Breakfast broadcasting live.

Roving reporter Richard Bacon set up a stall to sell old props from the wacky Channel 4 show.

He braved the cold at 6am to set up with regulars at the car boot sale and was taught the 'car boot lingo' by Pete 'Ten Pence' Burns, who runs the Book Stops Here stall.

Crowds of people haggled for paper money, plastic bacon, mugs, teapots, posters and competition boards from the show, which is hosted by Johnny Vaughan and Liza Tarbuck.

Pete taught Richard about the different types of people who go to car boot sales including sniffers who look but don't buy, frightened rabbits who scuttle away when they're asked if they want anything, time-wasters and Rhodesian rammers who slam goods back down on the stall. In between the three broadcasting slots, Richard sold the goods which were snapped up quickly after some brisk bidding.

The sale went on well after the show had ended, and all the Channel 4 props found new homes.

Richard said: "The people have been brilliant. The best bit we did was with Ten Pence Pete, who was teaching me about car boot sales. We've sold loads of the props and everyone has been great fun and I've had a good time."

Producer Dan Whitehead, said: "We were looking for a large car boot sale and this was the biggest area we could find with a nice mix of people. We have so many inquiries from people wanting props from the show, so it's good to have sales like this."

All of the money raised from Richard's stall will be donated to charity.
