CARL Briggs (pictured) has a plea for the East Lancashire public: Let Me Entertain You!

The 26-year-old from Prunella Drive, Lower Darwen, is hoping to make it big as a Robbie Williams impersonator.

He believes he has what it takes to emulate the style of the former Take That singer on stage.

Cabinet maker Carl realised quite some time ago that he looked like the former Take That star.

He once visited a Radio One Roadshow and had girls following him chanting Robbie! Robbie!

He has had similar treatment at his hairdresser's and favourite takeaway.

But it was only when he did a karaoke performance of Robbie's hit Angels at Uncle Jack's in Lower Darwen that he realised he had the voice too. One of his neighbours, a cabaret singer, invited Carl to take the stage at Hollins Grove Conservative Club for a couple of numbers -- and he went down a storm.

Carl said: "The crowd were shouting for more, but I didn't have any more songs to do."

The club promised the audience Carl would be back to do a full set, so he has now lined up a gig on May 26.

In the meantime, he is busy practising his moves -- and is even considering employing a professional choreographer to help him perfect the act.

His wife -- and biggest fan -- Janine, said: "We have been to see Robbie three times and we watch plenty of videos.

"We have been trying to get his dance routines together."

Carl is hoping to win a place on the television show Stars in Their Eyes, and said he would love a lifestyle like his hero.

He said: "I would love to be in the national papers and make it big time and actually meet Robbie. It would be great to perform with him in front of thousands of people.
