A TEAM of marathon men received a fund-raising boost from a Blackburn supermarket.

Three workers from Blackburn Rovers and three of their friends completed the London Marathon to raise cash for the Winged Fellowship Trust, which sends disabled people on holiday.

Their own fund-raising efforts -- which so far total around £2,000 -- were boosted by a £50 donation from Asda, Blackburn.

The runners were Rovers staff Scott Parsons and Andy McNally from Darwen, and Ashley Denning from Blackburn, and fellow athletes Darren Denning, Karl Dunston and Dave Williams from Blackburn. They were provided with transport to the race by Intack Hire in Blackburn.

Darren and Ashley's brother Liam Denning, who also works part-time at Rovers, had hoped to take part in the race but he hurt his ankle at the last minute and had to pull out.
