KARAOKE machines, therapeutic lightboxes and lightbubble tubes are among the gifts donated to Lancashire children with learning difficulties, thanks to an £18,000 charity pay-out.
Medicash, a not-for-profit, health cash plan provider, has donated the money to provide additional equipment to adult, child and family care services.
The charity has pledged to give away £135,000 to hospital and care-based charities across the country in 2000.
County coun Doreen Pollit, director of Lancashire Social Services, said: "We are very grateful for this generous donation.
"We work hard to provide an excellent service in centres and homes across Cheshire.
"Sometimes additional equipment is needed which could enhance the quality of service, but our resources simply can't stretch to cover their purchase."
Medicash chief executive Bill Gaywood said: "Some of the equipment needed by Social Services and the NHS Trusts will be of real benefit to thousands of people that use its facilities on a regular basis."
