HEYSHAM village's rich history is celebrated in a special tourism leaflet which was launched last week.
The colourful leaflet Historic Heysham Village has been produced to boost tourism and local interest in the village and follows two other recent success stories - the launch of the new SuperSeaCat service and the opening of a purpose-built Heritage Centre.
Packed full of pictures, the leaflet describes the village's intriguing past - from flint artefacts dating back to the Stone Age to the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.
It also focuses on tourist sites such as St Peter's Church, St Patrick's Chapel, the rock graves, the picturesque village and the Glebe Garden.
Chairman of Heysham Regeneration Group, Debbie Lee, said: "We've been working on this for a long time now and it's superb. It's very colourful, it looks classy and we're all very happy with it. Heysham has an awful lot to offer tourists and with the new heritage centre there's never been a better time to visit."
